Interparking - Airscan

Interparking

Scope

To analyse particulate matter concentrations (PM1, PM2.5 and PM10) in car parks across Europe and evaluate the positive impact of the installed purifiers.

Project Overview

Interparking is one of the major players in the European parking field, with a strong presence in over 300 cities. The company challenges itself by combining innovation and permanent improvement of its services while preserving the environment. In 2019 interparking announced the start of “Lung in the city” project, focusing on indoor particulate matter level control in the parking areas. As a result, in two years, more than 25 underground car parking garages in Belgium, France, Italy and the Netherlands were tested for the presence and accumulation of air pollutants emitted by mobile engines. Moreover, Interparking is actively participating in a carbon neutrality project developed by our sister company – CO2logic.

Result

In the past few years, Interparking took several measures to improve indoor air quality conditions in the parking facilities. Airscan diagnosis and permanent monitoring service concept was an ideal match to fulfil Interparking’s targets in indoor air quality improvement. Based on the Airscan diagnosis analysis efficiency of ventilation systems in the tested garages were improved. Moreover, multiple garages were equipped with the lungs of the city devices to minimise risks of indoor particulate matter exposure.
