Mobius Tower By Imobbel

Scope

Estimate pre-occupation indoor air quality conditions before “WELL – certification” and “BREEAM – certification” process.

Project Overview

Immobel mandated Airscan to evaluate pre-occupation indoor air quality conditions in “Mobius Tower” in Brussels to verify if the building is capable of passing “WELL” and “BREEAM” certification. The WELL and BREEAM Building Standards are the world’s first building standards focused exclusively on human health and wellness and can be applied across many real estate sectors. WELL and BREEAM marries best practices in design and construction with evidence-based medical and scientific research – harnessing the built environment as a vehicle to support human health and well-being.

Result

Indoor air quality conditions were measured at various levels of the building in line with the WELL and BREEAM methodology. An advanced device equipped with Radon (Rn) sensor was used to measure the presence of radioactive gas on the ground floor of the tower. Moreover, active sampling of formaldehyde via membrane batches was used in this project. Based on the analysis results Airscan team recommended applying to the International Green Building Association for the tower’s certification. Consequently, the reports prepared by Airscan were used for precertification preparation.
